We have been so busy that I haven't had a chance to finish a post. We've got yard work (the house we purchased came with no landscaping done), swimming lessons, etc... and now we are trying to get out of town for a little vacation. Swimming lessons for Cordelia! Oh my, she didn't realize that swimming takes some effort... lol The Grand Junction area lessons were booked and our friend suggested we try in Palisade (thanks Becky-you saved the day again). We got in and guess what, Cordelia got one on one with her teacher. SCORE!! She is doing well and I think I will put her in the next round of lessons also.

What Cordelia made for her teacher. She insisted on this and I think it was a great idea!

I couldn't wait till the back yard was further along to have tomatoes so I went and planted some in our front flower garden. I can't wait to start munching on them.

I've started to run again. It's been so long and it's gonna take a little bit to get back to where I was. It feels great to be doing it. When Ed is around in the morning I go by myself otherwise I have Cordelia push Wyatt in the stroller. So far so good. I have been worried about the flooding we are having since I use the river path.

***Since I wrote up this post the river trail has been closed :( No running for day 4.

Ed got to borrow the bobcat from a neighbor. So he got the backyard graded. Looks so much better. The kids got a free ride in it too :)

Rain, rain, go away till another day

We are patiently waiting for the weather to clear up so we can actually turn our clay mounds into a yard. It feels like it has been raining for 2 weeks with a day or two breaks. But we can't go out and dig and move clay/dirt until it dries.

Cordelia has one week left of school and is sad that it is ending. Gonna try and keep her busy with the Barnes & Noble and the local library reading programs. I need to look into swimming lessons and they actually offered a free school refresher course at the end of July. She wants to really do both. She bridged over to brownies from being a Daisy last night. That was a fun night.

Wyatt is eager to play outside and not to be put to bed when it is still light out.

Ed is doing good. He is eager to have a back yard and to be able to drink a beer on our back patio when it is finished.

Good news~ a neighbor put up a fence on one side and it seems the house on the other side (the new one that hasn't sold) is gonna be too. Which means we will only have to do our backside and the front gates. Ye haw!!

I don't think we will get to planting a garden this year due to the weather set backs. Though I am tempted to plant some tomato plants in our front flower bed.... Hmmmm...Wheels are turning. :)

We had Cordelia's 7th birthday party when family could make it. Her birthday seems to hit during spring break time...which is really hard on her. We have to plan for the party when everyone is back in town. This year Grandma, Aunt Bekka, Molly & Connell made it to the party.

I need to know how you feel when you read this. I am curious as to how this nation feels when they read this. So please be kind BUT state what comes to mind. This is a post thread from facebook. It is between 3 people- A, B, and C.

Initial post---->A. --Please all of you non Military people out there and Military. Pray that congress comes to some sort of agreement today so that us military familes can feed our children and pay our bills dispite what you think of War or what ever US MILITARY FAMILES SACRIFICE OUR WHOLE LIVES FOR YOUR FREEDOMS. SO you can say or do what you want. FREEDOM ISNT FREE IT COST THE LIVES OF SOLDIERS AND THIER FAMILY SO REMEMBER THAT.

B. -- everybody around the world is experiencing pay cuts. and for most they are not just a weeks worth pay but half of what they are used to making. and its a permanent change. Soldiers signed up for what their lives entail. Yes its a brave and ...respectable job....but they werent forced by anybody and they reap benefits nobody but military reap. So put on ur big girl panties and take the bullet like the rest of America and drop ur sense of entitlement. Ur medicals covered, ur housing is good and ur foods straight. Other homes are loosing health coverage just cuz they cant afford it. Military doesnt have to worry about that. Theres alot military is covered with that everyonne else isnt. And thats because of that contract and the sacrafices they signed up for. Just keepin it real, ur post is rude and pushy. And its not just our lives it URS and ur childs aswell. Remember that. Other husbands are doing for u and urs.....there is far more to our freedom than just the soldiers being deployed.
C. --Man oh man, that is just wrong! Not a thank for her DH being brave enough to shed his life for yours, others and people he will never know. Shame on you! Yes, the nation is changing. Changing in a sad way. BUT I am thankful for the brave me...n and women out there that put there lives before ours to protect us. Whether it is a military person, police officer, fireman, etc... Going without pay or a reduction of pay for this service is wrong and ungrateful... A., please thank your DH for his service. He is a brave man and you are a brave woman for being a military wife.
B. --Its nice that u point out Police Officers and Fire Fighters yet still obviously missed my point......here u mention other heros who not only have a permanent pay cut but are also loosing vital resources that keep them safe on the job and whom also are loosing jobs all together. Shame on u for not reading my post as it was meant to be read. My point is that the pitty party is far over worked. All of America is suffering. U will suffer one week of pay....while other heros in the world are laid off completely. Step outside the military box is what Im saying. ur entitled to the benefits u get that others dont but ur not entitiled to act as if my life depends on only ur husbands...its an entire system that works together. And by the way my brother and the father of my child fight for u and ur kids as ur husbands do for me and mine. Look at the picture as a whole.

Ed's new accessory

Ed tore his PCL snowboarding. He was on short term sick leave for 6 weeks. He now has been released to go back to work...he he he :) We have really enjoyed having him home. He was quite handy at times. I don't think I couldn't have survived if he hadn't been home to help me. Good timing honey!! :)

We had Girl Scout cookies to deliver. So we did a road trip to see family and we had a blast.

We are having Taco Chili leftovers. It is soooooo cold today that we have shivers in our bones.

Back to the soup. The first time I made it we had company over. I figured we would have leftovers for lunch in a day or so later. Nope, it was all gone. Yummy! I first had heard about it by reading a MB, I didn't think of looking into what they were talking about. Then on one of the frugal blogs (Coupon Geek) that I follow posted about it. It sounded so yummy.

I haven't turned back since making it. So easy peasy and yummy!

Life for us in 2011

Isn't it amazing how everyday stuff can eat up your day? That has been how our life has been.

Cordelia is itching for blue skies that come with warmer temps. For the sun to stay up longer so she can play longer outside.

Wyatt is wishing for the same thing. It has been so cold that I just can't get him outside with out turning him into an ice cube. The walk to the bus stop in the morning just freezes him.

Now, Ed is enjoying his winter time. Well only when it entails snowboarding. He is ready for warmer temps to work in. I am sure I can speak for him that he is done dealing with chains for the trucks.

I am ready for spring. Not summer. Not fall but SPRING. I love watching everything come back to life. I love watching everything go through all of the different shades of green. I am ready to see if the Tulips we planted are gonna come up. I so hope so.

We are ready to get back to finishing the yard. Still no fence or grass in the back. YUCKY mud/clay only.

The best gift

I need to remind myself this now and then and thought I would share with you what I am reminding my self.

The best gift we can give this year is LOVE. It's not about going out and spending a whole bunch of money (which I know I am guilty of ). It's not about having everything perfect (which is another thing I can be guilty of wanting). It not about the commercials you see on T.V.

I am striving to give a gift that shows that I am thinking about the person. Something they can use and when they do, they think of who gave it to them without rolling their eyes. It was about love.

Onto other stuff. I am late on blogging. I see it has been since Thanksgiving since I posted. Sorry about that.

As you can see I managed to make a nice looking turkey. It tasted pretty good to. Thank you Karen for guiding me! I ended up doing the roasting pan. I needed to have that golden turkey look... lol

Ed pointed out at the sunset one night and it was just BEAUTIFUL!

I found a recipe for blueberry sauce to use on pancakes and such. It's yummy!

I am hoping I get back on here before Christmas. Fingers crossed.

Time changes

The time change we had a few weeks ago has put a big dent on my life. Can anyone guess what has happened?

It's Wyatt. His internal clock hasn't acclimated with it yet. I am getting up at 5 - 5:30 every morning. YUCKO. It makes for long days. Now it isn't as bad as it was. He was getting up at 4- 4:30.

I have tried putting him to bed later. That doesn't work. It actually makes things worse.

When I actually sit down after everyone is in bed I am falling asleep. I fell asleep last night at 8:30pm. Geesh. I feel old!

So do we still need this time change? I think NOT! :)

On to other things

Here is the kids on the couch. Cordelia wasn't well on Friday and was on the couch recuperating and Wyatt had to copy her. :)

Ed is home safe and sound after being away for 2 weeks at school for work. I am proud to say he passed with 99%!! Good job babe!!

We have this BIG area next to the walkway to the front door of the house. I have designated it as my tulip bed. So I ordered plenty of bulbs to plant there. Here is the planting in progress. Wyatt even helped.

I have to give credit to Ed. He did all of the hard-work. He also planted to the majority of the bulbs and then covered them. What a good guy. I can't wait for them to start coming up. I am sure I will be taking lots of pictures to share in the spring.

We this last weekend she had her very first sleep over with the Girl Scout for a celebration for Halloween. She did great and had a blast! Here she is already with her bag all dressed up in her costume. She made a last minute decision while we were shopping for her costume. I think her train conductor costume turned out fantastic!!

How am I?

How am I supposed to keep up this blog when I don't even get time to read other blogs? I haven't posted pictures in so long that I actually feel guilty.

I still have yet to get pictures from Ed to post. GGgggrrr.... When I unloaded the pictures from my old camera I noticed that I haven't really been taking pictures. Another GGgggrrr.

Anyways,

We were walking to the bus stop today and Cordelia took off running to meet up with her BF from the neighborhood. She took a dive into the asphalt and I didn't see what had happened due the sunlight coming over the Mesa. Blinding I say. So as she was walking toward me howling I took in the damages she caused to herself. OUCH!!! She got her check bone, above her eyebrow, 2 teeth loose , a blood blister on her gum and some asphalt in her mouth. Then as you look down the body she got both hands and knees. What a mess. We rushed home to clean her up and get her back to the bus stop before it came. And guess what we made it. I so hope her day gets better.

Wyatt has been very needy. Needs constant attention. Wants to be held. Oye, can't get stuff done. But I guess it's worth it to be made to slow down and soak up these moments.

My cousin Josh is in the ICU in a coma. He needs prayers, positive thoughts.

Josh's friend John who taught him how to play the guitar visited him last night and played and sang for him. While John sang and played Josh's vital signs- heart rate slowed by at least 5 beats per minute. What a response! Also while his father visited him during that morning said that he was shivering.

He is gonna be having a test and hopefully the results from this is better than the last.

So please say a prayer or two.

A surprise that didn't happen

Grandpa and Grandma arrived on a train. The surprise was that her children were to meet here to celebrate her birthday without her knowing. Things got leaked and some family couldn't make it. Oh well. We will just have to try again.

It didn't ruin the fun we had though. We had a party and it rocked. The food was fantastic. The cake was beautiful. The kids played non-stop and fell asleep easily and so did the adults. It turned into a BIG sleep over! :)

Once the grandparents put up their blog post with pictures I will either link to them or snatch them and post them.

Cordelia's first day of 1st grade is today. I am officially giving her to society. I hope they are kind and teach her the stuff she needs to know. It's scary.

After we filled up our truck we are on our way again. We had a good drive until we turned off of I-70. Slow poke city I tell ya. Ed is not a patient driver. He likes to be the leader of the pack. We are working on this...I think...hopefully It took quite a bit of time to get to our destination because of this. By the time we are close to Rocky Mountain National Park it starts to pour. I mean POUR! And of course we are stuck behind a slow poke going 20 mph slower than the speed limit. We pull over to grab the tent and our sleeping bags into the truck. Didn't have anymore room for the luggage and the fire wood. :(

We get to our first choice of campsite and find it full. This means we have to travel to the other side of the park to get to the next one. Wouldn't have been so bad had we not been so late arriving and had there been no rain.

So, we get to the other campsite. Fingers are crossed that we can find a site and we did. YEAH! The rain starts to let up enough for us to put up the tent and get settled. A nice lady across the way lets us know that we had a female moose in the area. So off we went to check it out. She was feeding in the swamp area. Not bothered by any of us watching. It was really cool.

We had back to camp and start a fire and make dinner. It was fun and yummy! I will say that Ed can start a fire anywhere, when it is drizzling and with wet fire wood. I kinda felt sad for the others who were struggling.

We go to bed and slept pretty good. Ed and I both felt the havoc of sleeping on the ground. We are getting old!! So we wake up to a herd of Elk eating grass not to far away from our tent. I am in pure heaven. I absolutely loved waking up to them. We watched the clouds burn off of the mountains and the sun rise as we made breakfast and packed up camp to head out.

We had to go back to the other side of the park to get to the areas we wanted to see. We managed to go on a hike and of course we got poured on. The kids were champs through it all.

Ed and I dealt with some rude foreigners on the trail. They have no common sense it seems. Woman carrying toddler on her back is NOT a target to get pushed out of the way. All you have to do is say something like ~excuse me... I said some stuff that I know she heard- understand is something else. Yes, it was a fellow woman who did this. Geesh!

After the beautiful and rainy (ok, down pouring) hike we head back to the truck. Ed made the decision he was done with the rain and didn't want to camp in it again with the kids. So we called up Uncle James and Aunt Solitare. They graciously took us in for the evening. Thank goodness they didn't live far.

The tale of our trip to Rocky Mountain National Park

It seems that we are always expecting something to happen when we venture off to somewhere. Our past travels sort of predicts it.

We start off Thursday (day one)~

We leave just after 8 am and stop to get gas about an 1/2 hour down the road. Good thing we did.

We pump gas and we are trying to figure out why we are putting so many gallons in and why the pump is telling us our total is $80 + dollars.... really this is freaky since we had only done less than 200 miles on the tank. The trucks gas gauge doesn't work so we go off of mileage to know when to fill up.

All kinds of things are going through our heads to make sense of this.

Idle the truck to many times? just can't be possible
Something wrong with the truck to get such bad gas mileage? just can't be possible
A hole in the tank? Hmm...
Oh, MAYBE some JERK (think of something more colorful) siphoned gas out our truck? Now your talkin.

This is just one of the few post I will be doing about our trip. More to come.

We are leaving for an adventure. We are going to Rocky Mountain National Park to go hiking and camping.

Gutters, green thumbs and caught red handed

Last week was good. The gutter man came by and installed the new and matching downspouts!! He did it all and I didn't even notice. He rang the doorbell to let me know he was done. What good guy!

We have this BIG square coffee table and on one side it has two drawers. Well, Wyatt has turned the top drawer into a sitting place. He opens it and climbs on in it and sits and reads books or plays with toys.

We went to Rifle Falls on Friday. It was a blast. Wyatt loved the spray off of the falls. Cordelia had fun sitting on the rocks on the look out for fish while Ed took pictures.

Yesterday we reached record highs. 104 is just to hot! I kept Cordelia inside till later in the evening. At 8 pm it was still 99 degrees. UGH!!

So when it comes to the house. I apparently don't know what I am talking about. hem, hem...

I called the gutter people to have gutters put on the house. Yes, gutters did not come on it.

The wife called me to confirm the appointment and asked what colors I had chosen. Well, when I told her I apparently called the downspouts, gutters and did not refer to any downspouts at all or something like that happened. And when the gutters and downspouts were put on I learned real quick what I had done. Oops!

I had taken the time to match the colors to the border around the houses roof (what is the name of that area?) and matched the stucco. Well, now it is opposite... Sad!! When I walked out I was stunned. I felt me stomach go for a loop....

I stood back take a look and the upper part (lining the roof, what is it called again?) looks fine. Actually it looks good!

BUT those downspouts stand out so bad.

So I talked to the gutter guy he said "I was wondering why you picked those colors". His helper had said the same thing and of course Ed also said it looked off, yet not one of them spoke up... I looked at each one of them and asked "why didn't you speak up?" Hello??? The boss man knew that I had wanted to match everything so it wouldn't stand out (yes,I am taking full responsibility) BUT come on! Say something!!!

After admitting my oops to him and chit chatting, he said that if it made me happy he would come back and change out the spouts. Whew, stomach settles down, I can take a deep breath.

So later on, I walked by Ed and told him that that is the last house thing I am dealing with by myself. I am apparently not "smart, educated, knowledgeable enough-whatever you want to call it" to handle this house stuff. Seriously, I don't want to fudge another thing.

So now I wait for the gutter man to return to fix my oops....

Summer happenings

SO far this summer we have been busy.

Signed up Cordelia for the library reading program. So far she has turned in two levels.

Went to the local butterfly pavilion.

Grandma and Grandpa came for a visit. We took them through the Palisade orchards and picked up some fresh cherries. Visited downtown and drove through the National Monument. Hopefully next time they come the heat won't be as bad.

Ed has been very busy customizing the house and doing work on our future yard.

Front yard is now ready for grass seed. Just need to finish the sprinkler system so we can water the grass seed.

Alot of playing has been happening!

Cordelia and Wyatt are having so much fun playing in our dirt yard. Mud pie city!

Macho Man is still exploring the house.

We still have more to do. Next Month, well, actually the end of this month we are going camping with Uncle James and Aunt Solitare in Utah. I better get with her so we can get our game plan on.

Ed has made some storage shelves for the garage. Aren't they beautiful?? Notice the walls of the garage? Well they are a blue-gray color. Just got to finish painting the shelves white and we can't wait to fill them up so we can start finishing the unpacking and finish painting the garage.

I apparently need to make some. I feel so overwhelmed with what I want to do and what I need to do. Hopefully I can get more done with school out.

We went for a spontaneous trip to Grandpa's Un-surprise Birthday Party. We had a blast!! We met up with Uncle Steve, Uncle Joe and Jason. It was so good to see everyone.

Today is Cordelia's last day of school. How can time go by so fast???

The neighbors behind us have a little farm. They pretty much have everything and Cordelia is especially fond of the beauty in the picture. Her name is in Cherokee and I can't for the life of me remember it. I was told the meaning and it means Honey something. So I call her Honey. Before we found out her name Cordelia named her Princess.

Well, Honey will go to that corner and make some racket until Cordelia will come over. They will spend hours chit chatting with each other. I stand back and think to myself - What a beautiful, special thing. I seriously think we will have to do something with the fence so they can meet up with each other still.

It rained Friday night and continued into Saturday. I took the kids with me to go shopping and on the way home Cordelia and I had a conversation about staying out of the mud when we got home.

I start to unpack the groceries and Ed starts hollering for me. I am like what now... He says that a hose is need for Cordelia. It really didn't cross my mind about the mud (she had promised she wouldn't play in the mud). I go out and look. Well...

Now the question is- Next time do you think they will think twice about playing in the mud?

It took a lot of washing to get the stuff out of Cordelia's hair. Apparently since we are so close the river we have clay... OH YEAH!

Ed and I had some good laughs at Cordelia's expense. Really, I think it was worth it just for the laughs.

And some new shoes are in Cordelia's near future since they are now clay bricks.

Moving, Cleaning and Unpacking...

I have been offline since we packed up the computer to move. I did better than I expected. No with drawls.

The moving day came and went. We managed to move everything BIG in one day. That was a long and tiring day. I also had to deal with a nasty sinus infection while moving. It seems that every time we move, I have something wrong. Usually I am sick. Bad, bad timing.

We are slowly unpacking. Trying to figure out where to put everything. The computer desk won't fit in the new house, and today I came up with a brilliant solution. To put it on the kitchen counter until we figure something out.

I spent way too much time cleaning the rental we had. I want us to get all of our deposit back so I made that house sparkle. Hopefully they are impressed.

Once everything gets back into the normal mode I will share some pictures of our new home being lived in. :)

Ed has started to stake out the fence and patio. We are itching to be enjoying our new yard. He got promoted and is now a Supervisor. I am so proud of him! Yeah BABY!!!!

Well, this is the week we plan to finish the move into the new house. The fridge should be in tomorrow and tomorrow is Wyatt's 1st birthday, which I have nothing planned for yet. I think I am gonna wait until we are moved into the new house. Cordelia is NOT happy about this one bit.

6 days and counting till we close on the house.

So much to choose from and it's expensive! I mean a refrigerator, why does a house come with a stove and a dishwasher BUT not a frig? I just don't get it. I tried to pass the duty of picking out a frig onto Eddie. He wouldn't have it. Darn it. Side by side and bottom mount refrigerators are pretty much the only choices now days. And they aren't cheap either. We go out and look, and of course the ones we like cost as much as a car. :)

So this last Saturday was Cordelia's birthday party. I DID NOT TAKE ONE PICTURE! Bad, bad me!! The party was a cupcake party. I let the girls decorate their own and they had a blast! Cordelia invited 4 girls and only 2 showed up but seriously, I think it was the perfect size. Cordelia got to actually play with them and they got to play with her. If there had been more I think it would have been too overwhelming.

House stuff is still moving along. We hired someone to do an inspection, nothing big to worry about (thank goodness since it is a brand new house). Gonna have them fix some stuff and trim the BIG tree that overhangs the house. Ed and I are just itching to get into the house. We have been window shopping for blinds and a big floor carpet. Anyone want to share their favorite fridge with us? We have to buy one since the house doesn't. We are having a hard time choosing anything-blinds,carpet, fridge. Such big choices we have to make... :) Ed and I are still in disbelief that we are buying a house. How adult of us.

Cordelia is ever growing up. Some more freckles are showing up. Her hair seems to be getting darker which I am sure it will lighten up once summer hits. She is excited that there is only a little bit of school left because that means she will be going into 1st grade next year.

Wyatt is just plain ole HUGE! He is wearing 18 month clothing with just a little bit to grow. He weighed in at 22 lbs a few weeks ago. He can open doors now that have the lever handles. His feet move so fast now that sometimes they make him trip.

We as a family are so relieved that Ed is back home with us. YEAH!! And this past week and a half that he has been home has just flown by.

Almost a week left for Ed to come home-YEAH!
Almost time to celebrate Wyatt's 1st birthday- this has come upon us way to quickly.

Cordelia's 6th birthday is almost over :( but she had a blast today. She got some birthday money and it is burning a hole in her pocket.

It's almost time for us to close on our brand new home! We close on the 12th of April. I so can't wait to share pictures. I am getting some beautiful black granite counters in my kitchen! Oh baby!!! :) The bathrooms have granite tile. The house has beautiful tile except for the bedrooms which are carpeted. The house has a 3 car garage (I think that was the selling point for Eddie). Once we know we own this house I will share the rest.

School is almost over. Really?

It has been crazy busy here. I got a notice that I haven't blogged in over 2 weeks. Has it been really that long? Oh well. Good thing I get those reminders.

We put in a bid on a house (wish us luck and I can't wait to share pictures of it). Ed is gone for 3 weeks and I am left here all alone to deal with it. Stress has gotten to the better of me. I keep reminding myself it is good stress, nothing bad is happening. I am a BIG girl. lol

L♥VE is in the air. The special day of Valentines is a couple of days away. I sent Cordelia to school today excited. She can't wait to hand out here valentines. We made brownies and then cut them out with a heart cookie cutter and then bagged them up for her classmates.

House hunting is stressful. We have seen a good share of them. Most of them were not what I want to live in. It is actually looking like it is a better deal to buy a brand new home than it would be to buy one from someone else. Weird right? Well most of them are trying to get out what they owe on them and are not in as good of a conditon. Kind of stinks for them when people can go out and buy a newer home.

Wyatt is officially walking. It's a bowlegged cowboy walk and so stinking cute!

Are you ready for some babble?

I started this post 2 days ago and I am just now putting the finishing touches on it and adding pictures.

I am so ready for this New Year to turn around. It sure has been a rough start this month and the next month is just around the corner. My fingers and toes are crossed.

Wyatt turned 9 months yesterday. I took him in for his 9 month check up. He has officially over 20 lbs. It's time to get him into the convertible car seat. This makes me sad. I can't leave him sleeping in the car seat to move him. Now I will have to carry him into all of the stores and sit him in the shopping cart. He is growing up way to fast!

He still is sick. The poor fellow. The antibiotic they put him on is just not strong enough and to top it off Dr. thinks he has an sinus infection and pink eye. So much to put on a small guy.

Wyatt is starting to let go of stuff and venture into walking. In no time we will be chasing him, I am sure. He got his first battle scars from the cat and he insist on chasing Macho Man around the house.

Cordelia is counting down the days till she turns 6. She is also counting down the days till Wyatt turns one. She received an award this week, The Grizzly of the Quarter. It is for citizenship and academic achievement. I am so proud of her. I surprised her by arriving at the assembly. She had no clue she was getting this award. About half way through it she heard her name. She looked at me and said "she called my name! she called my name!" and hurried up there. She stood up there so proudly. Awwwww, it actually brought a tear to my eye! I love these precious moments. With the award she got a free dinner to Golden Corral. She can't wait to use it.

She is still top of her class in reading. Her teacher said that she is reading at where most kids are at the end of the year. Go Cordelia! She finishes her homework so easily. I hope that it is always like this for her.

Adventures for us or should I say Ed

It all started with Ed breaking his snowboard recently. Then he did something to his back that put him in bed and on the couch for a few days 2 1/2 weeks ago. Now

He blew up the car. Really he did.

The story goes like this. Ed went on his snowboarding trip on Wednesday. He heard some weird noise, pulled over and didn't see anything so he then went on his way. The noise was still there. SO he now pulls over yet again and sees the tire has blown the tread.

He then goes and changes the tire to the spare. Well, the spare had low air. He is thinking he should be able to make to a gas station to put air in it and be on his way.
NOPE.
That one blew too and he has to drive on a rim to the closest tire place.

He gets 2 new tires on the front and then is on his way.
On his way he is going up Vail Pass. Guess what happens? The car blew a hole in the engine. Now forgive me since I do NOT know all this engine talk. Look at the pictures below and you will see the hole and the piston rod that is supposed to enclosed INSIDE the engine. Thanks to Ed he took, edited the pictures and put the captions on them. I would not have been able to tell what looked right and wrong.

He managed to get to the top of Vail pass and coasted all the way to Copper to a gas station. This is many miles in distance. I so call that talent. I also say he had a few guardian angels watching over him. I am so thankful that he is ok. Safe and sound.

I do ask Ed to call me when he gets out of Glenwood Canyon. It's a little over 2 hours away. And then when he arrives to Dillon. I got way to many calls from him that day.

SO the next day. I got to venture out with 2 kids and pulling a tow dolly behind the truck to go get Ed and the car. We made it there and home safely. And just took the car to it's final resting place at the recycling center yesterday. AND yes, we kept the NEW tires he just bought that MAYBE only have 60 miles on them.

Anyone want a deal on BRAND NEW tires that are still mounted on the rims and are balanced? If so let us know!

A fresh New Year is upon us

Recap from the past week

Christmas was blissful. The anticipation of Santa was so magical this year.
We left for the Grandparents house on Christmas. We arrived that evening. The trip was long, cold and we arrived starving since there was nowhere open. I would have to say they (fast food chains) did false advertising because they left there signs lit up. :(

The Christmas celebration was fun (once I get the pictures off of Ed's camera, I will post them)! It was nice to be back and see everyone. Hopefully our next visit will be a longer one.

On a sad note. I lost my Mother 7 Christmas ago. She was a fun, loving, caring person. I am proud to say she was my Mother. I miss her dearly and the pain for her never dulls.

I hope I don't miss this next week. I think it is gonna fly by way to fast. Like in a blink of an eye. I have 4 people left to shop for. I have to pack for our trip to the springs for a Christmas celebration with family. I have to make sure Santa is ready for Christmas. Then I have to deal with this cold that is just in the way. YUCK! The kiddos are still getting over their coughs and mine hasn't hit yet. Maybe I will be lucky.

Cordelia is way to excited with Santa coming. Every year her excitement is greater. I love seeing the magic. She is also excited to be seeing Grandma and Grandpa.

I hope we manage to get some pictures. I haven't taken any lately. Bad me, I know. But it has been way to busy.

I don't think I will get another blog post done before Christmas and our trip. I will have to do a recap and when I do I hope I have plenty of pictures to share.

Cordelia loves to draw. I have paper covering the house, some stashed away and they all have drawings on them. I am low on printer paper because of her. She just loves to draw. She also loves to paint and play with play-doh.
Wyatt loves to eat paper.
Eddie has the talent of drawing also. He is very talented with wood also.
My little brother and older brother both have the talent of drawing.
My sister has the talent of sewing and other creative touches.
My Mother inlaw can draw, paint, sew and other talents.
My Father inlaw can paint and is a great cook.
My sister inlaw can draw, paint and make the cutest quilts.
My brother inlaw, well I don't know if he can paint or sew... But I know that his wife is crafty, can sew and she does scrapbook.

Today is Cordelia's first snow day. We woke up to a little less than 6 inches. More to come today. If this keeps going there probably won't be any school tomorrow either.

Took some quick picture the other day of Wyatt. He is growing up so fast! He is now pulling himself up and walking along the side of stuff. Now and then he lets go and stands for a few seconds then falls. He is into everything! lol More teeth have come in. He is loving baby food and can't get enough of it.

Christmas is coming way to fast and I have way to much stuff to do before then.

A presentation and a birthday

I was hoping to get this post up Wednesday. That sure didn't happen. Then I started to think I would be able to do it on Thursday. Nope. So here it is Sunday.

The week of the 16th, Cordelia was student of the week. On Friday the 20th she did her presentation. The teacher had given her a questioner and she would base her presentation off of that. She did an awesome job!!!

On that Sunday it was Ed's birthday. We made him a cake. This cake was so moist and chocolaty.

It is called Too Much Chocolate Cake. I will be making it again for sure.

We have the tree up. YEAH!! The stockings are hung. Yeah!! I just need to get on the ball for Christmas gifts. Great Grandma Thomas gift arrives this week. 1 down, so many to go.

Hopefully it doesn't take me 2 weeks to do another blog post.

Wyatt managed to get himself out of his saucer today. Took a nose dive. OUCH! Luckily he didn't hurt himself. He has a total of 8 teeth now, is working on staying in the sitting position.

Cordelia is such a smart girl. There are days where I forget she is only a 5 year old. School is going great for her.

I am trying out the PTO thing. We will see how this goes.

Ed is itchin to go snowboarding. He is gonna try going this week.

My birthday is tomorrow. It came up so fast. Where is the time going?

That is what Wyatt is in for height. Goodness gracious! Gonna have to start calling him Jolly Green Giant or something. He weighed in just over 18 lbs and is 28 1/4".

Cordelia choose to be a cowgirl this Halloween. I think it is her best costume yet. She looks adorable!

I caved and gave Wyatt a teething biscuit.

I kept eying the box at the store and it said not to give it to a baby until they were 9 months old. I just couldn't stand by and not give it to him. He needed to something to gnaw on that tasted like something. Boy did he dig into it. I also started cereal and have ventured into the land of fruits. He really isn't liking the fruits too much even when I mix them with cereal. He is a gagger. Hasn't thrown up yet, but it sure looks like it could be any moment. So it looks like it will be just plain cereal for awhile longer. Next week is his 6 month check up.He is crawling army man style. Oh so cute. Getting pretty fast at it too.
I have officially moved him into 12 month clothing. He is just growing to fast. I can't keep clothes on him. Thankfully I have been blessed with giving friends. I have clothing up to 18 months and then I am on my own after that unless I get another set of hand-me downs. Anyone have clothes???? lol

We went to Cordelia's parent -- teacher conference. Nothing but good things from the teacher. Cordelia is top of her class in pretty much everything. She is the only one that is in level 2 reading. YEAH!!! Ed and I are so excited we are busting at the seams with excitement and happiness.

Life is good. No pictures to share yet. Life is busy. Seasons are changing. Holidays are coming upon us quickly. Ugh. Got my first email from black Friday website. Nothing to exciting posted. Hopefully they have some awesome deals this year. My guess is they will.

Cordelia's school closed Thursday due to many kids out with flu-like symptoms. The school will be thoroughly washed and it will reopen on Monday. Then she has another 3 day week. We will have our first parent teacher conference on Thursday.

Got Cordelia's Halloween costume all put together. She picked it out and I think it was a good choice. Decorations are out and lights are hung.

Wyatt is 11 days away from being 6 months old. Why oh why did it have to go so quickly??? I broke down and started giving him teething biscuits, he is in love with them! Now to decide which flavors of food to start him on.

Hey family! Can you tell me which movies you wished you owned. I'm thinking up something, and it would help a lot.

Ed has been gone for 7 days. For 7 days I have been a single parent. Really it's not that hard. The only thing that has been hard is the truck brokedown. So Cordelia and I have to walk to school. It takes us a 1/2 hour to get there, then I walk back home. I get home in 1/2 hour and then head back out to pick her up, then we head home. That is 2 hours of walking for me and it kicked my butt yesterday. I was ready to crash way to early last night. Geesh, guess I am out of shape. Hopefully the weather is nice today.

I miss him dearly. I know the kids miss him. He returns tomorrow late at night. He is in Utah doing a job. Yeah, good hours!!

Next week Ed and I celebrate our 12 year anniversary. They went by quickly! I am greatful to have those joyus 12 years. Couldn't be better. Love ya Babe!

I finished a layout this week. So excited. It is Wyatt's first layout.

I think I am gonna be cleaning up my table and area. It has become a catch all place.

We have been going out for day trips these past weekends. This is our first weekend break in oh about a month. It's well deserved. The trips were so worth it. Family time, Mother Nature at it's best, picnics, squattin in the woods, seeing - sheep, Elk, Cows galore, chipmunks galore.

I actually took my camera on last weekends trip, battery died 1/4 way through the day :( So I didn't get to take as many pictures as wanted.

See if you can spy how many pictures have cows.

We came upon this grove of Aspens and found a HUGE herd of cows. I demanded...lol....Ed to stop. The cows were talking to us. I was getting a bit nervous. Mooing and movement kind of scared me some had horns. They really didn't feel so friendly. As the picture set goes on you will see more cows turning their heads to us.

I transferred Cordelia's pictures from her camera onto the computer. I love seeing what she has captured on it.

We went for a scenic drive this last weekend. The aspens are starting to turn. I don't think I have seen some many aspens in my life. Some of the groves we found were HUGE! I will post some of the pictures that Eddie took at a later time.

Life is busy. Time is short. Hopefully we get the stuff needed done.

The kiddos are good. Cordelia's teacher told me she will be testing her in a couple of weeks and that Cordelia is the top of her class in reading. Eddie heard that and said maybe she can get a scholarship into Yale or somewhere alike. BIG dreams we have for her. Hopefully we can guide her into the best choices.

Wyatt is ever growing. I have officially moved him into the size 6-12 months. His front top tooth is peeking through. Should be popping out of his gum anytime. He is still eating often. Some nights are better than others. Cordelia had him giggling so hard and for so long today that he got the hiccups. I love it!!

Well, bedtime is a coming.

Here are some random pictures that are recent. Hope you enjoy them!

Life has been a hectic here. Still trying to manage some free time to scrapbook when Cordelia is at school, but that just isn't happening. Hopefully I figure it out.

Wyatt's 4 month check up went great. He was 16 lbs and 8 oz. Huge in other words. 90th percentile in everything. I have had to buy 6-9 month clothes for him! I am guessing he won't last long in this size either. He is rolling over frontwards and backwards. His top teeth are working there way in and making him a bit cranky. He is a non-stop talker.

Cordelia, my Cordelia. She is loving school, everything thing to do with school. She is a great helper. She loves to play with her brother.

Eddie is excited about going out and taking pictures of the Aspen's this fall. I am hoping to tag along on at least one excursion which might not happen since Cordelia is in school now.

Ed's computer broke and has since moved onto my computer. I have been trying to do a blog post for over a week now. I don't do it in one sitting. I leave stuff open and come back to it when I get that 1 minute of freedom. But, since Ed has taken over I don't get those.

As I type this Cordelia is here bugging me to get her morning milk and breakfast. Ahh is life. Gotta keep movin.

I really thought today was the first day of school. I started to panic about a week ago. No one had told me if Cordelia was gonna be in AM or PM class. So I called to find out. Good thing I did, otherwise we would be showing up today for her first day of school. So, today we are going for testing. Weird, I know. I guess they test to see what is better for the child. Then the teachers get together and decide whether the children are AM, PM or all day. Yes, I said all day. Totally didn't know this was an option. I hoping for all day. Cordelia needs this. She loves school.

Friday, there is a get together to tour the school and meet the teachers. I wish they would inform us of this stuff in the packet they give you when you register your kid.

Wish us luck! Cordelia is on cloud 9 to be going to school today, even if it is for testing.

When was the last time you had happy tears. I was thinking about this. I feel we are more inclined to cry when we are sad and not when you are happy.

I shed a few happy tears the other night. We went to downtown Palisade for the beginning of the Peach Festival. We got to ride a kiddie train. What a blast! Then we headed to the streets where they were having street party with music. Cordelia asked her Poppa for a dance. It was the most precious thing. She wanted the "real deal" hand on back and hand in hand kind of dance. I watched this and just saw these twos faces light up with joy. This is when I shed my happy tears. She was just on cloud 9 dancing with her Poppa. I took some pictures BUT I don't know how to get them off of my phone. :(

So, answer me this. When was the last time you shed some Happy Tears???

What does the tooth fairy bring these days?

We are so excited here! Cordelia lost her 1st tooth!!! I have been watching her play with it for awhile now and she kept trying to pull it out with no avail. So tonight I was brushing her teeth and decided to give it a tug and out it came!

YEAH!

Earlier this week I was going through some pictures of me when I was about her age and we found a picture of me when I lost my 1st tooth. Cordelia insisted on me taking a picture with her and the picture. Please, please don't look at my horrid haircut. Why oh why did my Mom give it to me?

She keeps saying "I wonder what the tooth fairy will bring".

So folks what does the tooth fairy bring these days? I have no clue. I can barely remember what I got. I only remember it being money, but how much. NO clue.

We saw a few shooting stars tonight. I let her stay up a bit later to watch the
meteor shower. She was excited and made her wish on the 1st one we saw.

We went to Rifle Falls yesterday. The water flow has gone down dramatically since 2 weeks ago. But it was as beautiful as ever.

So while I am typing this up. Ed asks me how I got $26,000 in my account. I sit and think for just a second. Then I reply "I don't know". He says well come take a look. Well, know he is on the phone with the bank and they are trying to figure it out.

Too funny. I am $26,000 richer today! lol But not for long. :)

Life sure is interesting, stressful, fulfilling, exciting, full of drama. Especially when family gets together. We had our ups and downs when the family came to visit here this last week. Lets just say it was eventful. I love you guys!

Ed is home safely. Place 2nd in class. We are so proud of him.

We are slowly gathering stuff for Cordelia's first year of school. She is getting so excited. Where oh where did the time go?

Guess who has a tooth! Wyatt managed to get a tooth before his 3 month birthday. He is still trying to figure out how to roll over. He gets to his side and stops, then rolls back. What a talker he is too. I love it!

It has been a crazy week. It did go by quickly, but some days just seemed to drag.

Had a fun playdate with Cordelias BFF. The next day we met up and went to downtown for the farmers market. Grabbed some peaches this time. Delish I tell ya. I think this years crop will be better than last. They almost don't taste like peaches they are so sweet. Yummo!

Dad and Doris arrived in Colorado Springs yesterday. They plus Steve-O will be heading up here tomorrow and staying till Saturday. I hope we can keep everyone busy and cool. I will be off the computer mostly this week and I hope when I come back I will have some great stories and pictures to share.

Well, they don't have it posted what they were saying last night, but they are expecting it to be 103 or higher today. Yesterday, we kept trying to get outside. We would be out there for about 5 minutes (if that) and would just come back inside. YUCK!

My brother is missing. He flew out of Omaha airport today and landed in Denver to never catch his flight to Rapid. I am worried sick. Please pray for him.

Got the results from the pediatrician on Wyatt. It is confirmed that the left kidney is still enlarged. Gonna do another ultra sound @ 6 months if no problems happen before then.

Every Thursday evening Downtown Grand Junction hosts a farmers market. We went to see what it was all about. It was amazingly HOT!!! I couldn't believe how many people showed up. I think it was great that people showed up to support their local vendors. Lines up the wazoo to buy local produce. I decided not to get any since it was so hot and didn't want to make the family wait in line with me.

Follow up

When I was pregnant with Wyatt and had my second ultra sound, they saw that his kidney was enlarged. So they sent my to a specialist. The Specialist found that both kidney were enlarged. He wasn't to worried about it since it more common with boy babies. Something that most grow out of and would require for us to do check ups on his kidneys.

Yesterday we went for his 1st follow up ultra sound. The ultra sound tech said that the right one looks normal but the left one is still enlarged. Now we just wait to find out the "real" results from his pediatrician and find out where to go from there. The tech also said that we will probably have to do another follow up ultra sound later on.

That pretty much all I know as of now. When I find out more I will share it.

Please still keep us in your prayers that he will out grow this and nothing BIG will come of it.
